    How do I apply for a job as a full time or seasonal police officer.

    Anyone interested in obtaining an application for employment must first write a letter to Lieutenant Chuck Schnell .  It is helpful to include a current resumé with your letter. Additionally, you should indicate what position within the department you are interested in.

    Can I take my vehicle on the beach ?

    2014 Beach Buggy Permits

    Beach buggy permits are now on sale at Long Beach Twp. Police Dept. Limited access to Holgate wildlife refuge starting Monday 09/01/14.

    Long Beach Township front beaches will open 10/01/14. Entrances will be marked with access signs. 15 MPH speed limit will be strictly enforced.

    Beach Buggy permits may only be purchased at the Police Department. They are available 24hrs a day/7 days a week. Permits can only be purchased with an in-state check (NJ) or money order. The fee is $50.00 and is good for the calendar year, expiring December 31st. You will be required to present a valid drivers license, vehicle registration and insurance card.

    Derby permits will be issued starting 1 week proceeding the start of the derby and are available for a fee of $25.00 Derby Permits can only be purchased with an in-state check (NJ) or money order. Derby permits are only valid for the duration of the derby.

    What time is construction allowed in Long Beach Township ... ?

    Construction work is allowed: 
      Monday - Friday  from   07:00am to 06:00pm 
      Saturday  from               09:00am to 06:00pm  
     *Sunday   No Work  (unless work is being done by the homeowner and does not require a permit)
     
     

     
     

    Motor Vehicle Law 39:4-204

     

    The Chief of Police of each municipality in this State shall issue to any person who has temporarily lost the use of one or more limbs or is temporarily disabled as to be unable to ambulate without the aid of an assisting device or whose mobility is otherwise temporarily limited as certified by a physician or podiatrist… a temporary placard may, however, be renewed one time at the discretion of the issuing authority for a period of not more than 6 months duration.  The placard shall be displayed on the motor vehicle used by the temporarily handicapped person.  A vehicle which has displayed a placard is allowed to park overtime or in a designated handicapped parking place.

     

    The Chief of Police can ONLY issue temporary placards, permanent placards are issued by the State MVC.  Both applications can be obtained at Long Beach Township Police Department
